A Horse Called Gulliver

In a stable, warm and sweet, a little colt was born.
He grew up as a school horse, yet he felt forlorn.
The people came, the people left, he worked for everyone.
He worked from dawn to dusk, never stopping ’till the job was done.
One day his owners looked at him and said he must be sold.
The sign in front of the auction stall read “Gray Arab, 14 years old.”
A kind lady saw the horse and asked to see it out.
The horse was led out of the stalls, a girl rode him with doubt.
She pointed him towards a jump and then “Giddy up!” she did shout.
The horse obeyed the harsh commands from his mouth to the reins.
The lady watched without a sound — this girl was insane!
She bought horse and took it to her ranch.
The horse had straight legs and powerful haunches.
So Gulliver worked there ’till he was about thirty,
Then came a little girl who brushed his coat so dirty.
She loved the horse for four long years.
He helped her through times of tears.
She received the horse as a present one day.
She loved him more than any word can say.
The horse and girl stayed together forever.
And now my poem must come to an end.
My horse Gulliver is my best friend!
