A World Without Horses

Dark are the days
There is only night
No happiness or joy
No horses, no light
A world without horses
It would be so bad!
No one to be a friend
When I am feeling sad
No one to pick you up
when you fall on your face
To get you back in the saddle
To regain your grace
No one to teach you
To be strong and proud
To jump over life’s obstacles
To have fun and be loud
Life without horses
There is no beauty to see
No galloping hooves
No laughing, you see?
Horses are great
Horses are grand!
All our emotions
They understand!
And lend us an ear
A warm face too kind
To listen to our sorrows
With hope to find
We need horses
To make us strong
To help us fly
To form a bond
Life without horses
Would be dark and lonely
There’d be no life
Just living, only

A world without horses. What a sad thing that would be! I really enjoyed reading it (oh by the way when I say that I REALLY like it. I just sit there and enjoy the wonderful poem :-) *sigh*) It was such a champion poem and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! :-)

Good poem! Sums up how all of us feel. A life without horses? I don’t think I’d survive that life. :-D Good job.
Thanks everyone for your comments and input. I wrote this poem thinking of all the pain and sadness we’d have to keep to ourselves, and not have anyone to pour it out to. I thought about the feeling of riding a horse, like you can take on the world, and how i’d feel if it was ripped from my heart if horses just vanished.
