As the Seasons

Can you feel the change of the seasons?
The warm breath of the sun has turned chilly
with the currents of coming winds.
The trees are full of luster with
cruchy oranges, sharp reds, and tawny browns,
You with your warm wooly coat and I with mine.
Already I can see the soft breezy nickers you make
in the air as you greet me from the pasture.
You know this time of year,
when the children come for the annual hayride
and thank you with carrots and hugs.
Jack o’ Lanterns light the pathway for the evening
corn maze; i told you it’s not to eat… it’s a game.
Fresh hay and gooey, sticky molasses cookies for you
and hot cider for me. We both share the wonder of Autumn.
Can’t you feel the changes of the season?

Yeah, really cool. I love autumn and spring, they’re right in the middle. No extremes. Great photo. I loved the part about eating the jack-o-lanterns!

the gerneral submissions will probably open in a month or so.. our leadmare needs a little rest from her last race… (the fiction competition).. Until this its just Jbs. Cant wait to read your work though!

Beautiful! I love it! Totally describes fall, with the leaves and the air, and the sky and everything.
This wonderful poem makes me wish that it’s autumn right now, I just love it when the weather’s all fresh and cool. At least until next year I can keep revisiting that lovely season by reading this poem ;) Fantastic job once again HorseFeathers!
