Every so often I get overwhelmed by the real clutter in my virtual barn office, and a cleaning frenzy ensues. In the process I uncover a pile of horsey goods sent by publishers, artists and others hoping for a mention or to be part of a GHC giveaway. Add to that my own affliction for accumulating horsey stuff, and the pile gets bigger. So once again, it’s time to muck the gift pile.
(Not that I’m comparing these horsey goods to the smelly stuff we muck from our horse’s stall…)
What does this mean for you? It means you’ll have the opportunity to win some freebies — books, games, trading cards, and other goodies. If you’re interested in participating, check with your parent first to make sure it’s OK. If you do win, I’ll need an email from your parent(s) before I can ship the item. There’s no cost to winners and the mailing address will only be used to ship the prize. And yes, I will ship anywhere in the world.

PUBLISHING UPDATE + REMINDER. Submissions are open, and for the time being will remain open. All the blogs in the queue have been published or scheduled. The Loft Book Club stories are being rolled out one or two per day over time, with the latest featured on the sidebar (just above the publishing calendar).
Don’t forget — we only consider complete chapter stories for publication. This policy exists for the sake of our readers (who wants to read an incomplete story?) and editors (why edit a story that’s incomplete?). If you’ve submitted one or more chapters or a story prologue, your submissions have been set aside awaiting the final chapter with ‘the end’ as the last words.

P.S. about the publishing/ editing of stories that are incomplete- I forgot to save the latest chapter of my story I’ve been sending in, and I know a few friends here have accidentally done the same. I was thinking, if it wasn’t too much work, maybe you could send us a copy of our story/chapter/poem after submission, that way we know what we are at and how to continue.

I think I can find your virtual barn office to be a little patch of heaven with things about horses at every corner and in between. It’s been a while since the gift pile has been paid any notice to, so I’m anticipating what’s going to happen.
