Barn Buzz - August 15th
Published by LeadMare • Aug 15th, 2007 • Category: GHC News
We hope you enjoyed the mini break fun and games while we were enjoying *real* world fun and games like boating, swimming, hiking, meeting new horses, and watching a spectacular meteor shower from the top of a mountain. Now that we’re back to virtual reality, here’s the buzzzz…
INTERACTIVE VIEW - Are you ready for our next Interactive View, the interview where *YOU* ask the questions? The event begins Saturday August 18th featuring special guest Shelley Peterson, author of four young adult horse novels (Dancer, Abby Malone, Stagestruck, and Sundancer). We look forward to your thoughtful questions!
SEPTEMBER PUBLISHING SCHEDULE - You’ll see a light publishing schedule next month as we adjust to many of our readers and writers being back in school, plus other changes in the works as Girls Horse Club grows and evolves (more info coming soon). There are many wonderful blogs in the queue that haven’t made it onto the calendar, but we’ll get to that asap.
BLOG SUBMISSIONS - If you’re planning to submit something new, don’t rush. We have enough content for September, so use this time to settle into your school schedule. If you do submit something, please be aware your blog may not show up until October (at the earliest). Thanks for your patience.
BLOG COMMENTS - Just a reminder that the blog is a place for discussion that’s on topic and meaningful to all readers. We’ve gotten a bit lax about deleting off-topic or irrelevant comments on our end, but will definitely improve moving forward. Thanks for keeping your comments thoughtful, and feel free to use the contact form if you have a question or comment that doesn’t apply to the blog.
INT*L HORSE COMPETITION - So far we’ve received 6 completed entries for the Int*l Horse Competition, with more in progress! If you’re entering a chapter story, be sure to let us know when it’s finished by writing “The End” on the last chapter. Sorry, incomplete stories are not eligible. If you’ve submitted a complete entry and aren’t sure if you’ve let us know, use the contact form. Thanks for your help — we’re VERY excited to see who you’ll choose to join our virtual herd!

cool updates. thanks for keeping the site going, and i hope you all enjoyed your “mini break”
I love swimming and boating over the summer! My mom has a little speed boat and we hook up a raft to the back of it and go really fast! It’s a lot of fun when we jump over waves, but you get lots of water in your eyes! Any way, I’m REALLY sorry but I didn’t know that you had to write “the end” at the last chapter of your story so my story is really finished, I just didn’t write “the end” in case you didn’t know. I can’t wait to read everyone’s stories that they submit! The contest is going to turn out great! Maybe next we can do the art contest I suggested?:-/ I am really looking forward to the interactive view even though I haven’t read her books YET.
