Barn Buzz - March 13th

Published by LeadMare • Mar 13th, 2007 • Category: GHC News

GREETINGS FROM CHILLY VERMONT! I’ve been on the road for a bit of horsey adventure mixed with guest teaching (game design — how fun is that?) and lecturing at a college here on the other coast of the U.S. Once I’m settled back into our virtual barn headquarters, some new things will be coming your way. Here’s a sneak peek…

INTERACTIVE VIEW
Our first ever Interactive View with Templeton Thompson was a hit! Many thanks to Templeton for hanging out in our virtual barn between tour dates. Although questions are closed, you can still read the discussion while eagerly awaiting the next Interactive View. We’ll keep you in suspense about the interviewee, but hint-hint she’s a horse girl (duh!) and she makes a living applying her amazing talent to books. Our Loft Book Club readers and authors might get a kick out of this one. We’ll keep you posted!

HORSE TALES
To contrast the tale about Horses and Big Apples in New York city, we visited a pair of horses (and their human) with a rather unique job. Even more suspense! Let’s just say that of all the things horse girls dream of being when they grow up, this definitely isn’t one of them. But after you read this story, you might have a different perspective.

CONTEST TIME
We’ve got a bunch of cool horse products piling up in our office, so we’re plotting a new competition with prizes! Past contests have centered around writing, but this one will add a new twist for those of you who like to tinker with art.

Your ideas and comments are (as always) most welcome.

  1. I had an idea for something you could add to the catolog. I was thinking what if you could add free E-cards! You don’t have to, it is just an idea.

  2. that’s a great idea ponyprincess. there are tons of features we want to add as soon a suitcase of money falls out of the sky. :) but in the meantime we’ll keep trotting along trying to add new features for our wonderful members (like you!).

  3. LeadMare,
My mom was wondering how you find the time to monitor everything and keep the herd in order here around the barn!? :)

  4. ponyprincess: What a timely question! I’m planning to blog about that subject soon. The short answer is that I’m self-employed, which gives me some flexibility to prioritize things that are important to me — like family, friends, and Girls Horse Club!

Still, as Girls Horse Club becomes more popular it’s getting hard to juggle. My #1 dream (even more important than getting a *real* horse of my own) is to have the time and money to do even more with Girls Horse Club.

  5. I looking forward to it ;)
