Published by LeadMare • Nov 10th, 2007 • Category: GHC News
November Submissions Are Open - No changes to report since the last publishing update. We have one two slots open for Junior Bloggers and several in-progress chapter stories set aside awaiting the final chapter (Reminder: only completed chapter stories are considered for publication. See the Frequently Asked Questions for more info). Click here for the online submission form.
November Blog Carnival - Mona at Horse Approved is resuming blog carnivals and has invited us to join the fun. Some of you have participated in the past with blogs like Five Things: Benefits from Horse Riding by Madelaina and we also hosted a carnival last May. This month’s theme is “Why I Am Thankful For The Equine” and the deadline is Nov 20th. If you’re interested, send a submission and if it’s published before the deadline I’ll submit it to the carnival.
Giving Season - So far we’ve collected 10% of our goal toward donating $1000 to the International Fund for Horses. Below is part of a letter received from IF4H thanking us for the donations received so far. But we still have a ways to go, so blog submissions with ideas or inspiration for how to achieve our lofty goal are welcome.
I look forward to receiving your story and blog submissions. Thanks for reading!

Dear Girls Horse Club,
Our successes would not be possible without the generous financial support of caring people like you, and the members of your club. We have sent a separate acknowledgment by US Mail to the Girls Horse Club.
Please be assured that your contributions will go to work instantly, helping IFH get stronger equine protection laws into place, enforce existing laws and act as industry watchdogs.
Just like giving and activism, communication is also essential to success, so please let us know what equine welfare issues are important to you, and how you feel IFH can be more effective.
Best wishes,
Vivian Grant

I want to participate in the blog carnival, but what does the topic mean. Can you explain it to me? I don’t understand.
Hi horsejo. I understand it to mean the blog should be about why you feel thankful for horses or other animals in the equine family.
Hope this helps clarify.
This will be SOO much fun! I hope everyone participates!
I’ll try to participate in the new theme, can you send in poems using that theme and not just blogs? Thanks
Marisa, good question. Normally poetry is published in the Loft Book Club but if something comes in that’s relevant to the carnival theme I’ll certainly consider publishing it in the blog.
Can we do a blog and a poem in one? :)
I did one with a poem and a bit of a blog is that ok? It has two paragraphs and the rest of it is poems. I am sending it in once you say if it is ok or not. Otherwise, I will just see it in the Loft Book Club.
horsejo, that’s fine.
Great, I’ll send it in :)
