I Heart BlogsI HEART BLOGS because they’re generally one person’s unfiltered perspective. There are fewer bosses, editors, advertisers or other outside influences to taint the writer’s viewpoint. And readers can interact with the author by offering comments, questions and insight to round out the view. The world is filled with amazing talent (especially horse girls) and blogs give them a forum for expression.

Here are a few of the blogs I heart. There are many more, but start with these to see what you think. All are informative and entertaining. Enjoy the ride, er, read!

Over at Horse Approved, I enjoyed reading Mona’s post Walk Your Horse Like a Dog. Annie and I do this on those days when she and/or I are a bit out-of-sorts, walking around the property and trails surrounding our barn. I chat (who cares if others think I’m loopy) and she listens (horses are the best listeners). I also walk my dog like a horse, but that’s another blog post for another time…

Kelly at EveryRider wrote an informative post Follow the Leader about herd behavior and leadership. It will help you be a better horse girl if you educate yourself about how horses interact in groups. Heck, it might help you be a better person. Period. It will certainly help you be a better leader. I have a dream that one day horse girls will be leading the world. Yet another blog post for another time…

You’ve seen mention of the Pony Tail Club blog in a previous post. “I do my own stunts” made me smile and brought back memories of the first time I was thrown from a horse. I saw it coming and knew I was powerless to stop it, so decided to relax and let it happen. After a brief flight, I landed on my bum, rolled over doing a backward somersault, came up on my knees, stuck both arms out to the side and said, “Ta-da!” :) Relaxing into a fall is good. Laughing at yourself is even better!

Want more horse blogs? HorseBloggers.com is a great directory created by a horse girl who’s geeky. And I say that with the utmost respect — geeky is the new cool!

If you have a horse-related blog you feel is interesting and suitable to the Girls Horse Club community, feel free to email us through the contact link below. You’re also welcome to comment with a little blurb and a link, but we reserve the right to filter out anything that’s not appropriate for the young’uns in our herd.
