Closer

Each stroke of the brush
Brings me closer
My heart starts to rush
My stomach flutters
But I am not afraid
Just can’t wait till the moment
When I am astride
And see the world from his back
I’ll pick up the reins
And squeeze his sides
My heart will fly
As the day whirls by
Each stroke of the brush
Brings me closer
To when I’ll leave my haven
An absent minded smile on my face

That is a nice poem!
Very nice.. I can picture your descriptions in my mind. I like how you started and ended your poem with the same verse. It sort of makes me feel at one with the horse. (Rider and horse working together). Champion job!

I love the title, Stargazer! “Closer” sounds mysterious and cool! Happy writing!

wow I love that! You are amazing at poems! Maybe you will write a book of poems someday for little children to remember and recite in school. And when the teacher asks if they liked it or not they’ll smile and lift their hands in the air and shout all at once ‘WE LOVE POEMS ABOUT HORSES!’
great job!
Truly, it was a great poem. A few rhymes, but not too many. That’s always nice. :)
You are a great poet!!

Lovely poem,Stargazer!
I quite agree with Violet Inkpen. You could… no SHOULD write a book of poems like W.B. Yeats!
Great job and look’n forward to reading more from you!
