Danger: Horses Bite and Kick

This hilarious photo was taken last May when we visited the Irish National Stud. I was bitten by a young colt a while back so I knew enough to keep some distance when taking a picture of this little guy. The fence does not feel pain.
But up until last Friday, I had not been kicked. Now I know enough to steer clear of a horse that doesn’t like my horse, especially when both horses have inexperienced riders on their back.
Funny thing, when it happened the first thought that went through my mind (after *OUCH*) was “dang, I won’t be able to finish my riding lesson.” Now that’s horse crazy!
My shin hurts, but nothing is broken. Just a bit bloody and swollen with lots of lovely colors. Perhaps I’ll paint my toenails purple to match…
