Dear Girls Horse Club

by Julia, age 14

I’ve been a Junior Blogger at GHC for almost a year now, and what a wonderful year it has been. Sadly, however, high school is only a matter of months away, and all the preparation it involves is taking away from my time to contribute like I used to. My writing simply can’t compete with the incredible bloggers and authors on this site. I’ve read every word of every blog and probably every story in the Loft. I’ve watched GHC rise to the top ten in the 100 Top Equestrian sites, but best of all I’ve had the chance to meet the most talented, dedicated, poetic horse girls from all over the world. I do apologize, though, for not submitting the final part of my slaughter blog. That was my commitment and I fell through. I just don’t have the time right now to write a quality third part, and I would never submit any writing that is less than my best.

I’d like to sincerely thank every member of GHC for their support, help, and kindness. Don’t think I’m leaving forever though. I will still try to write the occasional blog or story because I could never completely leave my virtual home away from home. Give your horses and ponies a hug for me and keep on writing, because the amazing horses that touch our lives and inspire your blogs and stories is what makes this barn a truly special place.

Sincerely yours,

Julia

P.S. I’ve taken two journalism classes so maybe I will become a pub… I was going to say published author, but LeadMare has already given me that. So thanks for that too!

  10. Thanks for the kind words Julia. Even your farewell blog is a great reminder of why everyone loves your work and looks up to your leadership by example. I won’t say goodbye because I know you’ll still visit when you can. Take care and enjoy yourself before diving into high school.

What it looks like through my eyes is indescribable by words, but I’m going to miss you soooooo….oooo…ooo much! For the time I’ve been at GHC you have always been so supportive and inspiring. The herd would never be the same without you.

The first poem I read from you was “My Guardian Angel”, and it touched me like never before. That was what shown me the path of poetry and made me look at horses a whole new different way! So I’d like to nominate and congratulate you on that one.

    Goodbye, but not forever,
    Madelaina

  13. Oh wow, it’s hard to imagine GHC without you, Julia! Even though I know we won’t really be without here, even if you did leave forever, which I doubt you would do, you would still be here in a way with all of us through your writing.
