Different Worlds

As I saddle up my gray mare, I glance into her eyes,
and hers into mine.
We hold this gaze for a few moments,
two worlds silent and deaf to one another.
What is she thinking,
To be free of this heavy burden riding on her graceful back?
To run with the wind and wild ones,
never to be held back evermore?
Or is it to be with me… to love and to cherish?
I do not know.
How could I?
I can only stare into her eyes, and she in mine
as we share our silent world.

Beautiful poem, HorseFeathers!! It was written with love… I could tell. :)
Great work!

Good job HorseFeathers!
This poem is written from the heart.
I have had your thought expressed in this poem many times before.
Does my horse just want to go free?
Or be with me?
It’s so confusing.
That is a beautiful poem, but also kind of sad.
Very beautiful poem!
