First Time

Do you remember the first time you ever got on a horse? You were probably, nervous, excited, and careful all at once. I’d like to tell you about how I became horse-crazy.
I grew up with two cats, so I was a natural cat-freak since I was one. Over time, many pets came and left, and when I lost my only remaining cat, Carly, I thought I would never like any animal more than cats because I loved her so much. Then we moved to Florida. I wasn’t too excited about the hot weather and hurricanes, but I was willing to give up Alaska’s cool, beautiful land for a couple years.
I went to fifth grade in a regular elementary school and liked it pretty well. I enjoyed my life in Florida, but my life wasn’t very exciting. The only things I did were ballet, tap, and Awana. Then one day, when I came home from school, my mom told me that a friend’s mom from my dance class had recommended a stable nearby. She said that she signed my sister and I up for Summer Camp. It was every other day for two weeks, except weekends. I acted excited, but I was really thinking about what my mom just did. I’d always been an animal person, and claimed that I loved all animals, but I never really thought about horses.
I waited two months for that precious day to arrive. I didn’t know the first thing about riding. It turned out to be the best experience I’ve ever had. I was hooked. I saved $120 that summer and am now looking for a good stable. If you are thinking about riding… try it!
It is really fun, and the feeling you get in the saddle is the most amazing thing in the world!

Well, I don’t remember my first ride ( My mum says I was about 1 1/2 years),but the beautiful feeling of completement still fills my soul every time I get on. I LOVE IT!!!!

hi!my name is maddy and i just signed up on October25,2008.i signed up because i luv horses period.i 10 years uv age and i’m wanting to be a vet when i grow up.well,i’ve ridden many times in my life.one of my most pleasent rides was when i rode with a man who is in steer wrestling.i rode his horse Cha-Ching who should be in the hall of fame.i miss him.i met him 3yrs. ago when i was 8.he came in our resteraunt.he ordered an omlet.i dont really own a horse of my own.YET!
