Freedom

I reared
I landed on the green grass and was off in a gallop
My eyes were blazing with excitement
My independence burst right out of me
The wind played with my mane
Moving it this way and that
Like the waves of an ocean
My mustang ways shown through me
I passed hills and valleys
Lakes and streams
Fields and pastures where horses neighed at me
Who is this one who runs free without a care in the world?
They wonder
I am as untamed as fire
No rope can bound me
No human can tell me what to do
No matter where I go,
My heart will always run free
I am as fast as an eagle and as swift as a fox
My home is in the valleys
Where streams trickle and colts play
I gallop faster now
Thinking of my herd and my home
My tail streams out behind me
I gallop on
With freedom in my eyes

Awesome! Wow you write very well for someone your age, IG! I can picture the mocking glance that a mustang gives the horses who obey man’s command. This mustang cannot be harnesed into submission. Champion work

Cool! That is a very neat piece. I really liked it, it’s a happy poem. I can see it like a movie in my head, your poem is very good!
Wow! That is great for such a young age!! Great job, girly!! Keep working at it and I’m sure you’ll be amazing when you’re older. So way better than most 9 year olds! Nothing against that age group of course. :) But really that wasn’t just great for your age, that was amazing! I really enjoyed reading it! Love it! Definitely champion work. :)
Wow! I’m excited! My story is going to be published. I was kind of actually shocked when I saw it on the calender. But I’m super excited! :) lol. he he
Awesome job!! Great poem, and amazing rhythm. The description is wonderful, I can almost see the horse running… Keep it up, girl!
Brilliant, for somebody that’s only 9! Keep workin’ at what you do-I agree with Johannah that you’ll be amazing when you’re older! :)
Very well written! I love the way that the Mustang sorta showed off his freedom. And as the others have stated, it’s amazing for your age. You’ve got a nice talent! Keep writting, I’m sure in the future you’ll be fantastic! Great job,

Wow, IllinoisCowgirl, you’re only 9??? That’s just so amazing, & I can’t wrap my mind around it! Your poem was not too long, and not too brief, and it was very easy to imagine the scene in my head, with the mustang sort of basking in his freedom. It’s brilliant that you can write such an amazing piece at your young age. Keep it up, girly, & NEVER stop writing! Write on!
