Giving Season Update

It’s the last month of Giving Season and we’ve had three contributions to the International Fund for Horses totaling $127. Yay, that’s great! We’re now listed as part of their Horse on the Hill Gang.

But can we do better?

IF4H is a 501(c)4 non-profit equine advocacy organization with constituents in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. They’re dedicated to protecting horses by working to pass stronger protection laws, enforcing existing laws, and acting as industry watchdogs. Between now and December 25th one of their generous donors is offering to match each $25 donation with a $75 dollar donation. In other words, if you donate $25 it’s like you donated $100!

Not everyone has the means to donate and that’s understandable. But have you tried collecting a dollar/pound/euro (or two) from your friends and family members, then giving it to your parents and asking them to make the donation for you?

You’re all very imaginative and persistent — I’m sure if you put your mind to it you can think of ways to raise $25 knowing it will be worth 4 times that much to the IF4H. Any ideas?

  1. That is cool. I hope more people donate. I hope I can donate.

  2. I wish I could donate, but my family is a little broke right now. :(

  3. I’ve spent time begging, but mum says its unsafe though…Good luck with everyone else though!

  4. Madelaina, if your mum isn’t comfortable that’s understandable. Thanks for trying.

For anyone who may have concerns about the safety of making online donations, PayPal (the online payment system the IF4H uses for donations) is owned by Ebay and is used by millions of buyers and sellers around the world. All donations go directly to IF4H via PayPal.

  5. I wish I could donate too but my family is broke right now too..

  6. So there’s no way anyone could get our credit card #???
Cause my mom is worried about that too…

  7. Horsecrazzz, I’ve been using PayPal for a long time and have never had a problem, but it’s really up to your mom to determine what’s comfortable for her. You can always send a check directly to IF4H or call them. Click here for their mailing and contact info.

  8. HEY!!! IDEA!!!

Ok,for those who can’t beg, well, this idea is for you.
Recently the Girl Scouts came to my door, and we bought a couple of packs of cookies from them. Then it hit me,if they can sell cookies, why can’t we? Maybe horse shaped ones.Make sure people know that all proceeds go to IF4H.You may also want to make phamplets explaining what the IF4h is.Maybe even tell about Girls Horse Club.Hope this helps.

  9. Yay Cassie — great idea!

  10. This is a great idea. I hope a lot of people donate. :)
