Here are thirteen horse facts that you can quiz others with.
- The horse is the official state animal of New Jersey.
- Horses need 10-15 gallons of water per day!
- A horse’s stomach can hold 9-10 quarts of food at any one time.
- A horse’s heart weighs about 10 pounds.
- A horse can feel a fly land on him and twitch just that area of skin to get it off.
- The average life span of a horse is 20-25 years.
- Ponies usually live longer than horses.
- On average, a horse stands 15-16 hands at the withers.
- Horses cannot breathe through their mouths. That is why their nostrils are big!
- A newborn foal’s legs are already 90 percent of the length his legs will be as an adult.
- Horses have the ability to lock their legs into a standing position for sleeping. However, a horse will lay down to have a really good sleep.
- Some horses are gaited, which means they have another special gait plus the usual walk,
trot, canter, and gait. - Horses have the largest eyes of mammals.

Horses can practically see all around them except in between their eyes and right behind where their tails are.

My friend’s horse is 21 and is in awsome condition i think he will live till thirty. He has a ton of spirit!!
