As a horse girl, I know we sometimes get told, “Oh, you’ll grow out of this horse thing!’” Over and over again. For some of us this might be true, although I hope not! But what if it does? Day after day I see my friends, who used to love horses, slowly talking less and less about horses and more and more about boys, clothes, hair and makeup. Those are all things I’m not ready to worry about yet.

Instead of being one of the horse lovers, I’m becoming THE horse lover of my class. It makes me kind of sad…and disappointed. I look at my friends, the ex-horse lovers and think, “Will that happen to me too?”

Although I might be going against the flow of the rest of my class, I will always love horses! And if that makes me a freak to them, oh well. I hope that I never, ever become too caught up in fashion to think about horses!

  1. 16 and still going strong!!!! Besides, horses don’t talk back and love you 4ever,unlike guys!!! They are also less likely to break your heart!!!!! :D

  2. This is so good! This kind of thing shows up in poems and stories in the loft, so finally someone put into words (very good words) as a blog! I think the same exact way too. :))

  3. This is an excellent blog. I was only riding for a few years. Only three people in my grade ride horses. And I am one of them. But I will never forget horses.

  4. Great Job!!! This is a great blog!!! I have friends like that as well, but don’t worry about it. If you truly love horses then you will always love them. :D

  5. Very good blog Horsecrazzz! I certainly hope I will never not like horses! And no…..I don’t like makeup, boys, clothes (except with horses on them :) ), or hair styles :) Im sure no one on girls horse club will ever grow out of horses :D

  6. Glad you all liked it! I worked hard on it and am glad it got published!

  7. So true and so fantastic! I can’t imagine growing out of horses. They would never be a craze, they’re part of my life! And fashion? I have to say I’d rather spend the money on horse riding lessons! I wouldn’t care if I was called a freak either, loving horses is never going to declare you a freak! Great job!

  8. That is so true! And you know what it is happening to one of my friends. I do not think I will EVER grow out of horses!

  9. You are right! I was called the Horse Freak in primary. I do like clothes and make-up, but they aren’t my whole life, and I’m definately not ready for a boyfriend, they are all way too immature at my age!

  10. I LOVE IT, REBECCA! I am almost 13, and I love horses just as much as when I was three! :)GREAT BLOG! :D :D

  11. Execellent blog! I can have fun talking with my friends who love to talk about boys, clothes, ect., but I always get bored. I have much more fun have a nice “chat,” with one of the horses.

  12. Although I love clothes and wearing my hair pretty, I’m not really that girly like the girls in my classes. I’m just about the only person in my entire school who loves horses, which is sad because me school is near a lot of horse stables so I was expected to see a lot of horse lovers..

  13. I don’t mind dressing up on occassion, but fashion is not a priority on my list! Horses come way before shopping on my todo list! I won’t grow out of horses, they mean to much to me!

  14. I’ve been gtting told this for a long time. 6 years and going, and makeup still means nothing to me. I can wear chapstick at the least, but it feels like slugs are on my lips…Bleh.

  15. I have found a way to balance the two. I love makeup, boys, hairstyles and clothes. But horses have been in my heart longer and i love them more! :D

  16. Horses are the most importent thing, (after God) in my life. I don’t know what I would do without my horse Buck.
