Dear Junior Bloggers,

After careful consideration, I’ve decided to discontinue the Junior Blogger program. There are many factors that went into this decision, but a primary reason is that having a “special status” was creating a dynamic where some girls felt left out and/or bad about themselves — as though they’re not “part of the club”. That’s no fun, and not what I want for GHC.

This change is not a reflection of anything you’ve done wrong. You’ve done an amazing job keeping us entertained, informed, and inspired while showing support for guest writers.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be updating the site to remove information about the JB program. I’m not planning to remove any of your work, but will remove the “Junior Bloggers” category. If you prefer not to have your writing featured on GHC now that the program is ending, I can remove it at your request.

You’ll still have opportunities to contribute to GHC periodically. Soon I’ll share information about the March for Wild Horses event, which will include an open submission period focused on the theme of wild horses.

Thank you for your interest and participation in the Junior Blogger program. Your contributions are valued, and I hope you’ll enjoy what the future holds as much as you’ve enjoyed the special attention as a featured blogger.
