Meet the Welsh Mountain Ponies

Welsh Mountain Ponies are a cute and social breed of pony. They are native to the Black Mountains of Breconshire and, unlike many breeds of wild horses, under no threat of endangerment in the wild. They are often taken off the mountains at a young age and then brought to a European stable to be trained as a child’s pony. They can be phenomenal jumpers and are awesome on the hunting field. They even win prizes for their good looks partly because of their early Arabian ancestors. When they reach an old age, Welsh Mountain Ponies are often allowed to return to their mountain home.
What’s really amazing about these ponies is how tough they are. Year after year they brave the harsh climate of their mountain residence and yet continue to increase their numbers. These little guys are great horses for a first time owner and continue to prove why they are truly the pride of the British.

Wow! That wuz really good Cassie! :D Welshies r one of my favorite breeds of ponies! I never knew when they were older that they were sometimes let back into the wild! Again, VERY NICE BLOG 10/10!
