As a little girl, I always loved horses. But what I knew of horses was white ponies ridden by princesses and huge black stallions that won many races. It wasn’t until I started lesssons that I saw the horses that weren’t featured in fairy tales or movies. I learned how to ride on a brown crossbred pony called Danny. He was scorned by people who we met at shows and put down by riders on tall thoroughbreds and even I was criticized for riding him. But I didn’t care, because Danny was the world to me.
