Terri Farley, Mustang AngelYou cared about us when times were bad
You fought for us and made us glad
You protected us with words and deed
Turning away the hungry greed

When we were alone you were there
When we were sad you were fair
When we needed someone to care
We could count on you to be there

You fought for us against those who were mean
A silent guardian you were unseen
You cared about us when we were taken
To truth you we aren’t mistaken

When freedom fails and we are caged
You fight for us with fury and rage
Defend our rights fierce and proud
In our name you yelled loud

Now rally your friends and take up the call!
Save us, mustangs, one and all!
Fight for freedom and rights we need!
Protect us again with word and deed!

Mustang Angel you care for us
We will follow you with love and trust
When we are alone and need a friend
You’ll be there with us until the end

  11. This poem is truly an inspiration. It makes me want to scream my heart out, makes me want to fight for what we love and need to protect: the horses. This poem is moving, truly brings tears to my eyes. My tears are of joy, actually. I am so happy that we horse girls and women can stand up and fight for what we love. Yes, it will take work. Yes, it will take time. And yes, we will have to stick it out. But in the end, I have a gut feeling that we will, somehow, win this fight. Even if we don’t win the mustangs their freedom back, we can win in another way: we can know that we tried our best, and that we can keep fighting even after the fight is over. We are strong, girls. We have cowgirl grit in our blood,…. and therefore we have to use our strength to fight for what we loveand believe in. We can do this, but not alone. As said in this poem, our domestic equine friends will love and support us all the way. Besides, we simply CAN’T do this alone… at least, not without each other.

  12. You’ve written an excellent poem…I felt the rhythm, the power, the determination. The verses were straightforward but speak a lot too. Well done!

Three cheers for Terri! You’re an inspirational to us all :D
