I want to express my thanks to my equine friends. I love everything about them. Their big eyes, their perked ears, the swish or their tails, the special nicker they save just for us. I love the whip of their mane whether in real life or just in my dreams. Thanks My Equine Friends!

I also want to say thanks to Leadmare and all she does so that we can have a safe place to express ourselves and share our poems and blogs. I am thankful for GHC and all the girls in our ‘herd’.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone…human and equine!

My Hoofed Friends

The biggest part of me that makes me who I am….
is the horses all around me
and the joy they give

Upon their backs
I’m light as a feather
I can feel the wind
touch my cheeks
and for a moment
I can fly above the clouds

People will tell me
I can not fly
but upon the back of a horse
I have wings
and I defy
upon my hoofed friends

I have no aches or pains
I am not shunned
for my differences
but accepted as I am

For to them I am
as special as you can get

Upon my hoofed friends
I am who I am

And as another year goes by…
I’m thankful for those who make me who I am
I’m thankful for my hoofed friends.
