Please, Do Not Take Them

Published by • Mar 10th, 2010 • Category: March for Wild Horses, Poetry

by Natasha, age 9

Too many have died
Their freedom was lost
This is a mistake
With such a huge cost
Please let them live free
And run with the wind
Hear their voices
The freedom in them
Not the buzz of the helicopter
The clang of the gates
Please do not take them
Their spirits are free
Let them live out their life as should be
They are part of our country
A national treasure
We need to protect them
Now and forever
