Ridin’ Out
Published by LeadMare • Sep 7th, 2007 • Category: GHC News
As previously mentioned, this month marks some changes around Girls Horse Club as the summer publishing and event schedule comes to a close and I kick up my hooves to discover new trails beyond my role as your LeadMare and behind-the-scenes girl in this virtual place.
So what does this mean for you? Beginning September 9th our virtual barn will be more quiet than usual as the publishing services that require daily attention — reviewing, editing and publishing story/blog submissions, creating photo illustrations for blogs, moderating — will be taking a break. Check this space and the blog calendar for updates about when everything will re-open.
The following will be available for members and visitors:
- Voting for the Int*l Horse Competition and (after Sept 30th) creating/publishing the pages and images for the winning horse;
- All the features linked below;
- Periodic blog posts, with comments open on the most current post;
- Perhaps a few (good) surprises now and then.
If you have any questions, please comment (before Sept 9th) or use the contact form.
I hope you use this time to settle into your school schedule and enjoy the quiet of your imagination as you create the Perfect Horse, visit the friendly Int*l Horses, bite into some Freebies, graze the many stories in our Loft Book Club archive, or nibble the informative articles here in the Blog. If you get bored in our quiet corner of the world wide web, there are many great horse sites and activities beyond Girls Horse Club, some of which are reviewed by our members.
For the Junior Bloggers and authors whose talent is showcased at Girls Horse Club — keep writing! Until our paths cross again, stay safe and enjoy the ride!
Sincerely,

GirlsHorseClub.com

A break sounds very nice. Leadmare: Will you and staff be riding while your gone> Just wondering :)
Thanks Tori! You bet I’ll be doing some riding, and hopefully will get some good horsey photos to add to our Freebies. :) Take care.
You definatly deserve a break, Leadmare! Hope you have fun!
Hey Leadmare,have a blast! I’m not going to be submitting anything for a while anyways so it is the most convenient time for me!
Great scheduling!
Interesting LeadMare, I hope you have a fantastic time hitting the trails! Take care too and can’t wait for the photos!
Oh yay! Have fun Leadmare and staff of GHC!! May horses be with you :)
Have tons of fun while your gone! I hope that you all have a good break. LeadMare, GHC staff have a fantastic time! This is the perfect time too, because my 6th grade class is going to Woodleaf outdoor school for a week starting monday! B-)
You work so hard and are so great. LeadMare, this break is really deserved! Your need one! :)
Thank you all for the good wishes. Right now there’s no volunteer staff other than yours truly, so it’s good to take breaks for perspective, explore new trails and discover new dreams. 8-}
LeadMare, Have a fantastic break! You put so much effort into everything you do for GHC, a break is the least you can do for yourself. Have fun and enjoy the time off. I’m sure our virtual barn will enjoy the quiet before things are back in full swing.
Take care!

LeadMare:
How old do we have to be 2 be volenteer staff??? Cause I know we would all love 2 help O:-)
Horsecrazzz, that’s a very nice thought.
I can definitely use help with editing and moderating, but right now don’t have the features in place to enlist help from qualified members.
I’ll certainly give this some thought during the break. Thanks for your willingness to help!
