Riding for the Ribbons…NOT!

ribbons.gifI’ve enjoyed horseback riding for almost three years. I’ve competed in three shows at my local stable. The first couple of years I didn’t do so well. This year I did much better. But riding isn’t all about winning. Many of us know that but here are a few reasons why I think the ribbons are just an extra, not the whole reason to ride.

1) Horses are amazing.
2) Riding is a joy.
3) A horse that communicates with you is a treasure worth more than ribbons.

Riding is one of the things that makes my life, well, lively! Without it I would be a very different person. It has helped me through tough times. It’s helped a lot of us through tough times.

Riding horses is a joy. So don’t get discouraged if you don’t win many first places. Be happy that you get to ride at all. Some girls don’t know the joy of riding…yet!

Riding is about having fun… not about winning ribbons.

  1. Ribbons are great … you just hang them on your wall. Horses are much better, they are always in your heart and the color will never fade like the colors of your ribbons. A horse’s love is always better than any ribbon in the world. :D

  2. Yay! It got published! Hope everyone likes it!

  3. Very true!! I love it!! All riders should think like this!! Good job!! ;)

  4. Precisely Horsecrazzz! I would always appreciate a horse far more than ribbons. Riding, like you said, is a joy, and not something used to gain prizes and glory. Thanks for the blog and fantastic job!

  5. Yeah the blog is right and so are the comments!!! :D

  6. Thanks Everyone
