Steeplechasing

The intense run, the high hurdles, the finish line. That is steeplechasing. In steeplechasing, horses and riders must race each other and jump hurdles. It is a fun, exciting, and very dangerous sport. It is dangerous because when the horses jump, sometimes they bump into another horse, or, someone else bumps into them, sending them head first onto the ground.
The steeplechase is a form of horse racing (primarily conducted in the United Kingdom, United States, France and Ireland) and derives its name from early races in which orientation of the course was by reference to a church steeple, jumping fences and ditches and generally traversing the many intervening obstacles in the countryside. In the UK and Ireland the term ‘steeplechase’ is not used, even though the term ‘steeplechase’ originates in Ireland: the term (and formal code of racing) is National Hunt racing.
One of the most famous steeplechasers was Red Rum. He won the Grand Nationals three times. Impressive, huh? He was one of the best and most beloved steeplechasers of England. But sadly, he died because of an incurable hoof disease. He is buried at Aintree Racecourse.
Well, that concludes steeplechasing.

Rud Rum was an amazing horse!
um, on my fox-hunting blog, i thought i should say that when i said why not try steeplechasing, i wasn’t really saying it was a good idea…
Your a good blogger Tori :)
OMG thank you for the great blog Tori. I didn’t know all of that. By the way, what inspires you to write such good blogs? Is it a certain horse perhaps?
Short, but detailed! Good job, Tori!
horsejo: Thanx so much, glad you like my work :)Well, I’de have to answer no. I surf the net alot, and, typed the first thing that popped into my head. ANd, it was steeplechasing. SO, I puinched it in, found a HUGE page on it, did some research, wrote the blog and, tada!! And, the rest of my blogs, pretty much the same thing, except for “Look on The Inside, Not The Outside” came from heart.
Marisa: Thanx!
Oh, thats so sweet! How the one came from your heart. So sweet.
I agree with horsejo. I love this blog Tori, very informative and it doesn’t bore you too much because some text can be very tiring to read! Great job!
The part about Aintree is sad,:( but it made me think of the movie National velvet! :)
