Summer Fun

The summer holidays are here! Here are some great ideas for what you can do for the rest of the summer.
SCRAPBOOKING. Make a scrapbook of the summer by decorating the front page of a plain notebook with pictures of your horses, then use a page for each day you do something fun on. Stick in pictures, write stuff, you could draw if you are arty! (For more detailed ideas, read Syd’s Scrapbooking blog.)
GET ARTY. Practise your drawing skills! Try to draw a horse - it’s harder than you think! Go to the stable and get practising.
TRY SOMETHING NEW. You could go bareback riding, Western or English riding, depending on which one you ride. You could try side-saddle, or maybe driving.
CLEAN OUT. I know it sounds boring, but giving your tack room and feed room a big clean out will make the yard a lot more organised. Whilst you’re at it, you could clean the tack as well.
GROOM AND PLAIT. Give your horse a big groom. You could wash him too, if you like. Then start plaiting his mane and tail. If his mane is long, there are many ways to plait it.
HAVE A SHOW. Hold a show for you and your friends at the stable. You could write a dressage test, make a showjumping course, or even hire a cross country course! Get your instructor to be the judge, and make some rossettes.
Whatever you do this summer, have fun!

Regardless of different times for holidays, I am definitely keeping those ideas in mind and looking into them. You’ve just got me anticipating more the next holidays seeing as there are just so much horsey things to do! Very well done on this blog. I’m looking forward to reading your next.
Thanks! I just got back from a two week holiday in Sorrento, Italy and didn’t know my blog had been posted yet.
