The Anglo-Arab
Published by GHC • Jan 3rd, 2008 • Category: Guest Bloggers, International Horseby Rosie, age 11
The Anglo-Arab gets it’s name from two of the worlds greatest breeds — the Thoroughbred, which is the English (anglo) origin, and the Arabian horse. In the UK, Anglo-Arab breeding is very strict. Only these two great breeds can be present in the bloodlines.
Anglo-Arabs make excellent riding horses and excel in most disciplines including show jumping, eventing and dressage. The combination of the Thoroughbred’s complacent nature and strength, plus the stamina and intelligence of the Arabian makes an ideal combination.
The Anglo-Arab should have the body of the Thoroughbred and the head and tail carriage of the Arab. They are usually affectionate and intelligent. They are also very brave and spirited, and will always give their very best. Most colors of the Anglo-Arab are brown, bay, chestnut and grey, while white and black are rare.
The Anglo- Arab is a great and very honored breed, and is one of my many favorites.

Excellent Jumper Hearter! This is very informative, straight-forward and easy to understand. Just one more blog away from a Junior Blogger! Congratulations and keep up the great work! :D
Great, I loved it! I’d love to see an anglo-arab, next time I go to visit my grandparents I’ll have to take a closer look at the stud farm near them, there might be some! :)
LeadMare, If another one of my blogs gets published will I be considered to be a junior blogger?
Hey Leadmare (again sorry) I was wondering if I could change my name on this blog and my other one to Rosie and keep this name, thanks.
Hi Rosie/Jumper Heart. I’ll change your author name from Jumper Heart to Rosie on your two blogs. And yes, it still stands that once you have three blogs published as a guest blogger you are eligible to be a Junior Blogger. Currently we have two slots open on the JB team. Thanks for your interest!
Thanks LeadMare as soon as I can submit more blogs I will!!! :D
Thanks Madelaina, I really look up to your blogs!!
Wow! I have always wondered about this breed and you cleared up so many things in this blog. Thanks for sharing Rosie!
