The Jumper

The ground beneath me
The sky before me
My heart beats in rhythm
with the thundering of my hooves
I round the corner and
charge at my challenge
My very soul
leaps inside me
I rise like a mighty Pegasus
bounding over earth itself
At that one moment time stands still
I am a creature of the wind and sky
Then earth pulls me toward her
as I descend from the heavens
I land with glee and honor
awaiting my next hour of flight

HorseFeathers, all of your work is just too good! I love this poem, and I look foward to more poems from you. Your poems always put me on the edge of my seat! They draw me into them, like I’m there!
