The Lesson

Floating through the air,
Moving like one,
No gravity pulling us down,
All time stops.
Salute and move off,
Like a new car,
A slight squeeze,
Will release the pressure and make us move.
I forget the world,
The sorrows,
The pains,
And myself.
We are but one,
Flowing with the rhythm,
Created by your hooves,
Pounding softly against the sand.
And the canter,
The breeze easing my hair out behind me,
Which makes my heart sing,
As we revel in the bliss.
A perfect halt,
A reluctant salute,
A turn on the spot,
And walking.
It is over too soon,
The little time we have together,
The lesson is over,
We must let our ways part.
A kiss on your soft nose,
A stroke on your silken neck,
You nibbling my hair,
Reminders that I will see you again.
Next time…

Reminds me of my fourth or 5th lesson. Not the first because we were anything but one.. me getting bucked off was not really in harmony with the horse. lol. Champion poem.

beautiful piece of poem! I love it!
lol HorseFeathers. Wow, DianaLUV♥ that was amazing! I luv it! Keep up the good work! I felt the girls reluctance to end the lesson. It’s like she never wanted to get off.
poor HorseFeathers…it reminds me of the first time i rode my little snob of a poney, princess. :)
Reminds me of my last lesson with Jodi, it was soo peaceful. Wonderful poem- it sounds like my memories- great job!

You’re all the best!
Oooh! My blog is getting published on the 11th! Please read it girls!
You should never doubt yourself, this poem proves that your writing is beyond amazing. The serenity and dread of the end of the lesson is portrayed perfectly. It makes me think of myself. Every time my instructor tells me to walk I’m scared the ride will have to end, but horses do deserve breaks. That’s the only reason I’ll get off willingly :) Congratulations on your published blog, DianaLUV, I’ll be sure to read it!
WOW…That was awsome! Brings back memmories of my lessons. Champion work!
