The Little Things

I was just thinking that it’s not the humongous, momentous things that really mean the most, it’s the little things. Sure there are some big things that are really important, like your first time riding a horse, the first time you placed in a horse show, or the first time you rode bareback. But the little things really matter the most.

A horse’s nicker in the morning when he sees you, the wind in the grass, the smell of roses… I could go on and on.

It is the little things that shape you into who you really are. If you don’t stop for a breather, you will soon burn out. You have to enjoy life as a little girl. Don’t grow up so fast. Enjoy yourself, have fun, turn a cartwheel, play a game with your horse, get away from yourself for a while. Try and you’ll see that it really is the little things that count.

  4. But you’re completely right. It’s the little things, like this blog, that count. Just a little encouragement brightens someone’s whole day!

  5. Great blog! Love it!

  6. You are soooo right. Whan I am around horses, I act like a five year old who just got praised for saying please. I talk to the horses like they were people and I give them kisses, muc to the disgust of my riding teacher. Great little piece of art. :)

  7. I loved this! I always love the little things…and, horse and me, I always talk to and kiss horses too! I communicate better with horses than people, actually.

  8. I know what you mean Moonflower. One reason I took to writing is because it made it easier for me to communicate with people. But I NEVER had trouble communicating with horses! I know what you mean my horse and me, haha! My mom would just scowl when I would kiss horses!

  9. Great blog! Your right….. When my lesson horse sees me coming, its as if she said ” Hello! so, are we gonna have a good day or what? You know I missed a lot!” My imagination is strong. So some times I can imagine my lesson horse saying something else. Its all about who you are.
