This Wonder That Can Fly

They’re my box of tissues,
When I drain out tears and cry,
They’re the reason I have courage,
And the confidence to try.
The assurance that I gladly gained,
While riding proud and high,
Has taught me to adore and trust,
This wonder that can fly.
People tease and laugh at us,
Because they just don’t know why,
It’s no easy job to mount and risk
Your lives, yet not be shy.
The rhythmic drum of hoof beats,
Carry them far into the sky,
So when I look up I remember,
This wonder that can fly.

wow…….reaminds me of East Wind. The FIRST horsse I ever road on a trail by myself without anyone leading me around. He made me feel like I had been riding since before I could walk!
Awesome. Amazing. Awe-Inspiring. Thought Provoking. INCREDIBLE! That was fantastic, Madelaina.
I can’t stop smiling, thanks so much everyone :D I’m glad so many talented and fantastic writers like my poem.
i love that poam, is it all right if i use this in my school? ill use your name of course.
Sondra: Of course you can use it for school, I’m always happy to share the wonders of a horse. But I think it is always fun to try yourself at writing your own poetry. GHC is a perfect place for horse-loving girls who like to write to grow and develop their own individual skills. Just write what your heart and mind tells you to and you can create something very beautiful. Maybe next time you can show everyone YOUR talents :)
