What a Rescue!

Rescue100.comI know that only a few of us watch the Global Calgary (a Canadian television network), but one headline really caught my attention. 100 horses were recently rescued! The SPCA caught men keeping horses in inhumane conditions. The horses were going to be taken to an illegal slaughter house. Inhuman? Oh yeah!

So these horses are taken to the SPCA, but their troubles aren’t over. First of all, three of the horses have to put down due to the conditions they were kept in. Next on the agenda, finding a home for these horses. The SPCA had no idea where these horses would be going. The SPCA began to debate, put down most of these horses and leave the most healthy to live, or find a home for ALL of them?

One lady from Keno Hills Stable heard the story and stepped up. She owned a small farm, but had room and love for every horse. The SPCA agreed, but who would help her care for the horses? She didn’t know, but would do her best to care for them. The SPCA agreed and the next day, the horses were brought to the small farm. This woman started to care for the horses, and then was surprised by something absolutely amazing. Her whole town had already set up everything for the horses. That’s right, I said her WHOLE town. It was a small town, but the whole town pitched in to help her.

Small town, small farm, BIG miracle.

  1. That’s amazing news Cassie! Sadly I don’t live in Canada so I can’t watch what happened, but I’m glad you did, because the story of the lady from Keno Hills Stable was, like you’ve said, a miracle.

  2. OMG! 100 horses! wow! A WHOLE town! Thats amazing! great job on the part of Keno Hills Stable and the lady that rescued them, also great job on your part of making a blog about it! :D

  3. That’s great! I don’t live in Canada either, so I couldn’t watch it either. I’m sure you people have heard of the English rescue a bit like that. Over 100 horses were kept on a farm in terrible conditions, and there was even a few day old donkey. It was very sad :(.
