What is Poetry?

A poem is a story,
words flowing as a song,
it is a description,
as a rhythm with words,
like horses’ hooves prancing,
or their manes flowing as they run.
Horses in my poems
you would think that they belong.

In our little poems,
our stories with a song,
hooves prancing,
gives us rhythm,
the mane flowing,
gives us song.

Every time I read my poem,
I think of the swaying rhythm,
of a canter,
or a short choppy little thought,
like a trot,
and a beautiful wild poem,
with amazing rhythm gallops on and on.

  1. Beautiful! *huge applause* very short, and very sweet, and some really, really good poetry! Awesome, round of applause to you, and keep writing!

  2. Champion work! I loved it! I like how you compare trotting with a short, choppy, little thought. This really gives me a differant perspective of when I write poetry. Wanderful job, Ginger.
