Whisper of the Morn

I pull the ivy curtains aside
to the left and to the right
The dew is fresh on the ground
tickling my bare feet as I walk through
the green grass
The morning glories sing their fragrance
to the air
I dance with them between many shafts of light
I lie down with my back to the earth, my eyes
exposed to the world above
Swallows sing in the great oaks
and the squirrels chitter their secrets
A gentle plodding behind me
and a white mare looks down at me
With purple violets in her hair
we dance a dance of joy, warmth, and comfort
I dance till I can no more
once more I lay in between the morning glories
resting my eyes I breath slowly
When I open them the mare is present no more
as if she was never there
a whisper in the morn

Alas, HorseFeathers! I too am swamped in a slew of work! (lol!)
I’m working on a story already too, and have 3 horses (one of them green broke and another hardly ever ridin)that need to be able for beginners to ride by this fall(Ahhhhhhh!) Not to mention tons of other farm stuff. But I will keep it in mind in case I get an idea!
I’m still amazed how anyone can write poems that well. Mine are rather….:l
P.S. Can’t wait for the next ‘Loch Herd’!
P.S.S. When do you find time to write? Do you have a set time? (e.g Thursdays at 7pm) Maybe thats what I’ll have to do in order to ever finish:)
I seem to write my best at night.. when im in my bed propped up against my pillow. I get out my notebook and start writing down a few ideas… later i implement thim into a story. At night sometimes i dream the next part and if i can remember it i right it down imediatley. =0) Thanks agian
