Why I am Thankful for the Equine: My Pledge
Published by GHC • Nov 20th, 2007 • Category: Gift Horse, Junior Blogger Archivesby horsejo, age 11

Soft, velvety fur covering the body. A long glistening mane shining in the sun. The valiant tail, held upright, swaying gently in the breeze. Hooves so clean. Legs so tall, strong and mighty. Faces so cute. Eyes so big. Everything is perfect about a horse. So this is my pledge to all horses.
Oh horses, so big and strong.
You are a giant that stands tall.
You are huge with a sweet heart.
You are a powerful creature.
Oh horses, so fast and mighty.
You let us ride on you.
You are so fast, you jump so high.
You are simply amazing.
Oh horses, so gentle and kind.
You have a heart of gold.
You are every horse girl’s dream.
You won’t spread our secrets.
Oh horses, so fine and proud.
You hold your tail high.
You act so proud, even if you’re not.
You always look so fine.
Oh horses, so amazing and true.
You dash at the speed of light.
You are simply amazing.
You are better than anything else.
Oh horses, my thanks go to you.
You are always there.
You help me to be jolly constantly.
Oh horses, thank you.
That is my pledge to all the horses I have met, and all of the other horses somewhere in the world. All horses are blessed and as amazing as can be. All horses are everything in my pledge and more. All horses are perfect. So horses, thank you.

I love this blog! A poem written by your heart is always the best, and I can certainly say it is! Thanks for sharing this with me! :))
Great job, horsejo. Today is my 3rd day of feeling this, especially since 3 nights ago my pappaw said he would sell ALL of his horses but the 3 foals(2 weanlings, 1 yearling). I cried for an hour! But yesterday, he said he only sold six, and has 7 left including the 3 foals. I was happy, but 3 of the 6 were mothers, and one of the foals was only 5 months old and not weaned!I loved her so much, too. My pappaw couldn’t keep the 6 because they would’ve straved this winter because of lack of hay. I’m thinking road trip once I’m out of college :D Anybody want to come with?
Thank you for publishing it, LeadMare. I help everyone enjoys my pledge to horses and loves them as much as I do!
Awesome poem! It touched me!
Thank you everyone for the lovely comments. Nice comment, Ali.
Thank you, horsejo. Currently, I have no clue how to do it, or even if I’ll have luck, because they were auctioned off. But I’ll do whatever it takes to find those horses. :(( :-S :-? 8-}
