Why I am Thankful for the Equine: Plain and Simple
Published by GHC • Nov 20th, 2007 • Category: Gift Horse, Junior Blogger Archivesby Cassie, age 11

I’m not going to make any long speeches or use any fancy words. To be plain and simple, I’m thankful for horses because of who they are — a friend, family member, counselor and riding partner — a horse is all of these. A horse will be our lifelong friend, and for that I’m thankful.
A horse will comfort us in our hard times. Maybe a close friend or family member died. Maybe we have problems in our family. A horse will lead us through the hardest times. For that, I’m thankful.
The horse girls who don’t have a horse? Horses help them too. Horses give those girls a reason to hope, dream, believe. Being one of those girls, I am thankful.
Horses give everyone a look at something only a horse can bring. An ability to change the world, a lesson that changes our hearts forever. Troubled girls are working with horses to this very day. Why? Because of what horses can do to change the world. For that, I am thankful.
