Writing for the Loft Book Club

barnbuzz.gifThere are many excellent writers and poets at Girls Horse Club. They have such great skill that reading their work makes you laugh and cry. They are such good writers because they have great imaginations. They can soar through the sky and still be sitting in the room they never left. These girls have imaginations bigger than anything. These girls are incredible.

For some people, writing is a bit harder. It doesn’t mean they are bad at it, it just means they could be better at other things, such as horse riding. Today I am trying to make everyone’s imagination soar. I have come up with three different prompts to get people writing. These will work as poems or stories for the Loft Book Club.

1. Ashley owned a horse named Moonlight. One day the two of them went camping in the park. Together, they stayed up late and had a moonlight adventure. Describe the activities that the two of them do.

2. A young horse was being ridden in a Fox Hunt. Someone accidentally shot the horse instead of the fox. The horse was rushed to the emergency room. Describe the rider’s experience and what it would be like waiting to see if your horse would survive. You choose the ending.

3. A horse and a rider go on a trip out of the country and into the city. How does the horse react to all of the new sounds in the busy city? Do they enjoy themselves? What happens in the end? Do they ever go home?

These are just a few ideas to get people writing. If you have ideas, please share them in the comments. December submissions open in two days so I hope this will help inspire some new stories for the Loft Book Club. Keep writing!
