Breed
History

The name "Quarter
Horse" came from early sport-loving settlers who raced
these horses on (you guessed it) quarter mile stretches. The
Quarter Horse is said to be the first all-American breed. |
Breed
Characteristics

Quarter
Horse's were bred to be compact and muscular for work (as
cow horses) and play (as race horses). A Quarter Horse can be
one of 13 colors, with limited white markings on the face and
below the knees. |
