Sneak Peek…

As I was hammering away on the blog remodel and May submissions started cantering in, the time seemed right to put down my geeky tools and give you a peek inside. So come on in for a little tour, but watch your step — it’s still a bit messy in here…

Beyond having a new look, you’ll notice the main page is formatted more like an online newspaper or magazine with a lead blog [1] and a number of featured blogs below [2]. Instead of seeing the most recent blog taking up most of the page, you’ll see a number of blogs, each with a short intro. If you click any title it will take you to the full blog.

In addition to the new format, you’ll be able to access all the blog channels from the top navigation. If you roll over a heading on the blue bar, a drop-down menu will appear [3] listing a number of sub-channels. Currently the channels are Entertainment (fun horse-themed activities and products), Information (advice and info about horses), Inspiration (inspiring horse stories and articles), Junior Bloggers (blogs by each JB on the active roster), and Publisher’s Corner (news, publishing updates, LeadMare tales). These will be refined over time.

We’ll also have a sidebar [4] similar to the original blog, but I’ve cleaned out all but the basics and will add to it over time. You can help by letting me know what’s most useful/interesting about the sidebar on this blog.

There’s more, but I’ll keep you in suspense until the *official* grand opening later this month… In the meantime, let me know what you think so far!

    This looks great LeadMare! For the sidebar I know that, to me, the Publishing Calender is very important and the map of where the horse girls are. Thanks for putting so much into this LeadMare! You truley are amazing!

    The News Events and links are the most helpful to me. : )That would be one thing I would want to keep.

    Wow LeadMare, it’s amazing how much work you’ve done! The new blog layout sounds very new and interesting, and I can’t wait for the grand opening (in my opinion it would be the grandest of them all!). Everything’s nice and well-planned with easy access to everything. I just love your ideas! To me, I think the polls are quite fun, the Blog Talk where you can keep track of comments and/or replies is great, the Ponder This… is really cool and unique, and the Barn Buzz is very helpful too. Those are the main ones, but I think no section is wasting the blog’s space! Thanks for everything LeadMare! :D
